A MEN SHED?

A Men’s Shed is a male friendly place where all men are welcome - retired, retrenched, unemployed or just seeking company or mateship - young and not so young. It can be a place where practical things happen, like woodworking or restoring old cars. It can be a place for sharing information and ideas, where blokes are passing on not just practical skills but life experience to young men. But it can also be a place just to come and sit for a while, have a chat over a cuppa or play a game of cards.

Many people think of Torquay as the setting for a perfect lifestyle, the whole “sea change” thing. But that idyllic image is not always the reality for everyone.

Torquay is a fast growing town, with housing and retail developments growing at a rapid pace, but it is not always obvious how to connect with the local community.

So don’t sit at home, make those connections and become part of the local community. Please contact us if you are interested, have ideas about possible activities, or ways to raise the necessary funds for a other resources for the Men’s Shed.

We now meet in the green shed at 151 Grossmans Road, on the left, just before Messmate Road 9.30am Wednesday mornings, so anyone interested can drop in and find out more about us.

This is a great opportunity to be a part of this community project, offer assistance, share ideas and work with a group with the same vision. Input from community members would be appreciated.
